The 118th Carnival of Personal Finance was hosted at Money, Matter, and More Musings. I really like how this carnival is laid out with interesting money tidbits and factoids scattered through out the listing. As you will see I am highlighting almost twice as many posts as I usually do. That is how good this particular carnival is. That makes it even more of an honor for my post on Reaching New (deferral) Limits to have been included.
Here are some of the posts you may want to check out:
- Which Jones Family Are You Trying to Keep Up With? from My Two Dollars was selected as an editors choice, and I can see why.
- Advanced Personal Finance was inspired by that post to write Climbing the Consumption Ladder Together which was also selected as an editor's choice.
- I usually stay away from consumer issues in blogs, but I really liked Buyer's Remorse and My Secret Weapon from Finding Financial Peace.
- Thank you to An English Major's Money for writing an Open Letter to the Bank of America. I don't know anyone who can not empathize although I would have thought an English major could have found a more appropriate expletive if they want this to be taken seriously.
- When Good Credit Reports Go Bad: How To Dispute Collections Errors from A Penny Closer not only shows it can happen to you, but what to do if it does.
- The Finance Buff celebrates Life Insurance Awareness Month with How to Buy Life Insurance. Although I do not agree with his premise that term insurance is always the best option, he does make some good points and has a refreshing perspective.
- Many people understand the Balancing Act between longer term and shorter term savings that 1MansMoney describes.
- A blog I have referenced before is FIRE Finance who gives a nice summary of Investment Risks at a Glance.
